Signature notarisation in Portugal, without the queue at a notary.

Is this you?

When a plain signature isn't enough

The tell is the wording. If a form says your signature must be "recognised", "certified" or "notarised", this is the service.

✓

A declaration a Portuguese authority requires

Consent letters, formal statements and declarations that only count with a recognised signature.

✓

Bank and financial forms

Portuguese banks sometimes want a recognised signature on account forms and instructions sent from abroad.

✓

School, university and employer paperwork

Enrolment forms, sponsor letters and confirmations an institution wants formally signed.

✓

You can't get a notary appointment

Embassy notarial slots are scarce and local notaries can't always handle Portuguese documents. This route is fully online.

How it works

Fully online, in three steps.

You upload your signed document, verify your identity online, and the certified PDF comes back by email. Your part takes a few minutes.

1

Order and upload your signed document

€79 flat, one signer per order. Sign the document, then upload it as you check out.

2

Prove it's you

A quick online check from your phone. A few minutes.

3

Your certified document arrives

A licensed Portuguese lawyer recognises your signature, and the certified PDF lands in your inbox, usually within 2–3 business days. Paper version posted from €30 if you need one.

Is it valid?

A lawyer's recognition counts like a notary's

Article 38 of Decree-Law 76-A/2006 authorises Portuguese lawyers to recognise signatures, and the law says those acts carry the same evidential force as if a notary had performed them. Each act is registered in the official online register, so the recognition can be checked. For everyday declarations, forms and letters, this is exactly what receiving authorities expect.

Genuinely excellent

“Immigrating to another country is intimidating and having people who know the system behind you changes everything. They're professional, they're helpful, and they went beyond what I was expecting. I'd recommend them to anyone moving to Portugal without hesitation.”

FAQ

Signature questions

The formal recognition of a signature under Portuguese law: a lawyer or notary confirms the signature on a document is genuinely yours. Once recognised, institutions accept the document as properly signed.
The signed document, the passport or ID you’ll use for the online identity check, and an email address.
No. There’s no video session anywhere in the process. You verify your identity online from your phone, and everything else happens by email.
One signatory per order for now. If your document needs two signatures, message us before ordering and we’ll work out the cleanest way to handle it.
Yes. Sign and write your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
Yes. Your documents are handled under GDPR, used only for the order you placed, and the identity check runs through a regulated verification provider. Nothing is shared beyond the lawyer handling your order.
Usually 2–3 business days. The clock starts once your identity check clears and your signed document is in, not at payment.
€79 flat per document. A posted paper version is an optional add-on from €30, and an apostille for use outside the EU can be added for €99. There are no other fees.
Within Portugal and for most EU uses, the lawyer’s recognition is enough. For use outside the EU you’ll usually need an apostille on top, which we can add for €99. Tell us the destination country and we’ll advise.
No. The lawyer certifies your signature but doesn’t review, advise on or change the content you supply. If you need the document written for you and it’s a power of attorney, drafting is available on the PoA route.
Documents that legally require you to appear in person before a notário, and anything with more than one signatory for now. If we spot that your document falls outside the service, we’ll tell you before the lawyer starts.
